06/13/09 - By Noelle Myers When Kellene McCaffrey was supposed to be finishing her homework one evening, she submitted a three-minute video to Glamour magazine for an Herbal Essences contest and was one of three finalists chosen to model the product. The University of Rhode Island senior journalism major submitted the video in November after hearing about the opportunity from a friend.
06/13/09 - The research of a University of Rhode Island professor is paving the way for a future of biofuels and renewable energy on a local and national level. The Department of Energy recently granted $1.5 million to fund the research of Professor Albert Kausch, the director of the URI Plant and Biotechnology Laboratory.
Summer 2009 - With Rhode Island being the country's smallest state, it's easy to make the assumption that there's never anything to do. But with a little patience and a mind for exploration, Rhode Island can sometimes spin out a few little gems of interest.
Summer 2009 - The University of Rhode Island women's club hockey team took home its sixth consecutive Eastern Collegiate Women's Hockey League championship this past March at the Boss Ice Arena. The Rams defeated Pennsylvania State University, 4-1, in the semifinals and then the University of Massachusetts, 4-1, continuing their long reign of dominance at the top of the conference.
