By Tyler Will News Staff Reporter 10/03/08- While the University of Rhode Island is amid the worst financial crisis in recent memory, campus organizations are suffering: athletic teams are being cut, faculty have been offered early retirement incentives and secretaries are slowly disappearing from department offices.
10/03/08 - The "I Am African" posters in the Memorial Union, Multicultural Center and Hope Commons are making quite a buzz around the University of Rhode Island campus. Even URI President Robert L. Carothers struck a pose sporting tribal paint with recent AIDS facts of Africa below his face on a poster for the campaign.
10/03/08 - "Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist" is a romantic comedy based on the book of the same name by David Levithan and Rachel Cohn. The film stars Michael Cera (Nick) and Kat Dennings (Nora) as they embark on a crazy night of shenanigans in search of Nora's drunk friend Caroline (played by Ari Graynor), as well as a secret gig being put on by their favorite band.
10/03/08 - The University of Rhode Island woman's tennis team boasts a strong cast of freshmen this year. The dynamic duo of twins Tristany and Kirsten Leikem head the group, which also includes teammate Pam Emery. Head coach Sandy Wood says that the twins have helped to make a significantly stronger team.
