09/12/03 - The University of Rhode Island's plan to relocate its Feinstein College of Continuing Education in Providence to a new facility in South Providence has evolved into one that will create an independent "City Campus." As part of a joint effort between URI, the Community College of Rhode Island and Rhode Island College, City Campus will offer the opportunity of higher education to members of the Providence community who cannot afford a typical four-year college degree, as well as individuals who require specific learning needs.
09/12/03 - The anniversary of Sept. 11 began with a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. and the bells above Davis Hall echoed throughout the URI campus; another chilling reminder of what happened two years ago in New York. Some said the publicity Sept. 11 was given was inadequate this year, others are remembering the tragedies in a different way.
09/12/03 - A chemist with the Massachusetts state police spoke about their crime lab, the different units within the lab and all the intense tasks the investigators must accomplish at a crime scene. John Drugan, senior forensic chemist with the Arson and Explosives Unit of the Massachusetts State Police Crime Laboratory, hosted a forensic science seminar last night in Pastore Chemical Laboratory.
09/12/03 - Chances are you may have attended Hempfest on the University of Rhode Island quadrangle last spring. If not, chances are you've at least heard of it. If you haven't yet heard of it, you probably will soon. After all, Students for a Sensible Drug Policy, which runs the celebration each year, is the fastest growing student organization in the country.
