11/08/05 - The University of Rhode Island Violence Prevention and Advocacy Services is holding a fundraiser at the Rhode Island Credit Union. The branch manager, Nancy L. Seale, decided to help after hearing the program needed funding and sought to become more involved in the community.
11/08/05 - A new coffee shop opened on the University of Rhode Island campus in Independence Square located on Route 138 next to the Boss Arena on Oct. 1. However, the mission of the Gateway Cafe extends beyond providing students with the fuel they need to survive all-night study sessions.
11/08/05 - The University of Rhode Island Psychology Department hosted a presentation yesterday in the Cancer Prevention Research Center about substance abuse and other risky behavior in juvenile delinquents. The presentation, "Rationale, Description, and Methodological Issues of Group Treatment in a Juvenile Correctional Facility," was presented by Lynda A.
11/08/05 - The University of Rhode Island has begun to coordinate and establish what is being referred to as a distinguished achievement award program for URI alumni. The program has been initiated by Michelle Nota, executive director of alumni relations, and Robert Beagle, vice president for University Advancement.
