02/06/08 - Fans of The University of Rhode Island men's basketball team had a lot to cheer for at last Saturday's game, but one of the favorites for the thundering, sold-out crowd wasn't a player. At each timeout, as the teams huddled and hip-hop music blared, URI student Jason Coppa ran laps around the perimeter of the Ryan Center court.
02/06/08 - Yesterday marked Super Tuesday, when 23 states held their primary elections and caucuses for presidential nominees. Although Rhode Island's presidential primary is not until March 4, many URI students' home states held elections yesterday, including Connecticut, New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts.
02/06/08 - Representatives from Jewish, Christian and Islamic faiths spoke yesterday at the University of Rhode Island Multicultural Center for the Can't We Talk panel to discuss the common beliefs these religions hold, the hurtful stereotypes often associated with each and ways to overcome obstacles to peace.
