04/15/08 - The University of Rhode Island athletic department announced its plans yesterday to cut the field hockey and men's tennis and swimming teams due to budget cuts within the department. Additionally, the women's lacrosse team will not become a varsity program as originally planned when the gymnastics program was cut in February.
04/15/08 - If there's a chariot race in Barlow Circle, it must be Greek Week. The 1,400 members of the University of Rhode Island Greek community are coming together this week for the 68th annual Greek Week, which began with a chariot race Sunday and will conclude on Friday.
04/15/08 - In his annual State of the University address Friday morning, President Robert L. Carothers commented on the upcoming economic hardships, reiterated plans for a single tuition rate and spoke briefly about the impact of a retirement incentive for senior faculty.
