10/17/08 - Two business professors at the University of Rhode Island said the campus's budget situation is unique as it is an unconventional business. Joseph D'Adamo said that since the university is not a profit-driven business, it is more difficult to make budget cuts.
10/17/08 - The controversial post of Chief Operations Officer (COO) for the University of Rhode Island Student Senate is up for dissolution again, as announced at Wednesday's meeting. The Student Senate will vote next week on a bill calling for amendments to the Senate bylaws.
10/17/08 - The University of Rhode Island Counseling Center yesterday held a free depression and anxiety screening in the Memorial Union gallery. Holly Nichols, a clinical counselor with the URI Counseling Center, organized the event. "I think [depression and anxiety] are pretty common," she said.
10/17/08 - The Study Abroad office at the University of Rhode Island has been extremely busy lately. More students went to the recent Study Abroad Fair than any previous fairs, and the staff members are booked solid for at least two weeks handling further inquiries from students.
