Possible cut to controversial senate office

10/17/08 - The controversial post of Chief Operations Officer (COO) for the University of Rhode Island Student Senate is up for dissolution again, as announced at Wednesday's meeting. The Student Senate will vote next week on a bill calling for amendments to the Senate bylaws.

URI Counseling Center holds depression, anxiety screening

10/17/08 - The University of Rhode Island Counseling Center yesterday held a free depression and anxiety screening in the Memorial Union gallery. Holly Nichols, a clinical counselor with the URI Counseling Center, organized the event. "I think [depression and anxiety] are pretty common," she said.

Study Abroad office busy 'in spite of the economy'

10/17/08 - The Study Abroad office at the University of Rhode Island has been extremely busy lately. More students went to the recent Study Abroad Fair than any previous fairs, and the staff members are booked solid for at least two weeks handling further inquiries from students.
