11/19/08 - A joint meeting among University of Rhode Island and Narragansett officials brought an opportunity to discuss alcohol-related issues facing both communities, such as the town's "orange sticker policy" and off-campus parties. The purpose of the URI-Narragansett Coalition is to help promote mutual respect between the two communities.
11/19/08 - According to a scientist at last night's fall Honors Colloquium lecture, human impact is to blame for detrimental changes in the world's oceans. Professor Jeremy Jackson of the Scripps Institute of Oceanography at the University of California, San Diego spoke to a packed Edwards Auditorium as part of a series, entitled "Human Effects on the Ocean and its Ecosystems."
11/19/08 - Sophomore Peter Kenyan rode his bike off a five-foot drop yesterday to promote the University of Rhode Island Cycling Club, what organizers hope will be the newest addition to the university's club sports lineup. Kenyan said he has been cycling since he was little, riding off natural and makeshift jumps on the farm in Rhode Island where he grew up.
