02/12/09 - The University of Rhode Island's Census of Marine Life has recently teamed up with programmers from Duke University and Internet giant Google for first looks at new discoveries in the ocean. The census program consists of more than 2,000 scientists in 80 countries worldwide, gathering oceanic data in a 10-year plan to try to generate more understanding about the sea.
02/12/09 - Seven University of Rhode Island professors have artwork on display in the Main Gallery of the Fine Arts Center as part of the faculty exhibit entitled "Hybrid II." The artists include professors Ben Anderson, Jeff Bertwell, Annu Palakunnathu Matthew, Barbara Pagh, Kim Salerno, Lilla Samson and Kimberly-Blue Wade.
02/12/09 - The University of Rhode Island might resemble Germany this summer as the German Summer School of the Atlantic holds its 29th annual cultural immersion program for students wishing to learn the language. In addition to the German program, URI will host the first Chinese Summer Immersion Program as well.
02/12/09 - On this year's University of Rhode Island Student Senate presidential ticket, students will have the ability to vote on an increase of $8 per student in the student activities fund. Club sports president Eric Litvinoff proposed the increase to the senate.
