11/03/09 - An early lead was not enough to spark the University of Rhode Island football team's (1-7, 0-5 CAA) offense as the nationally ranked College of William and Mary shut them down with a 39-14 victory Saturday afternoon at Meade Stadium. The game appeared to be going in the Rams' direction t after a botched snap by the William and Mary punting unit helped swing the momentum in the Rams favor.
11/03/09 - Coming off of an impressive 4-0 victory over Xavier University, the University of Rhode Island women's soccer team finished the season with a win over Richmond University, 2-1 but lost the last game of the season against George Washington University 2-1.
11/03/09 - The University of Rhode Island women's swimming team opened up their 2009-10 season on Saturday with a win over the University of Maine in Orono. The Rams had a combined 10 first place finishes on the afternoon for a final score of 155-145. Rhode Island began the event with a win in the 200-yard medley relay with juniors Alexandra Lalli, Melissa Flynn, Lillian Falconer and sophomore Katie Mangano posting better times than their competitors from Maine and combining for a time of 1:50.
