11/5/09 - When syllabi were distributed in September, most University of Rhode Island students probably noticed a rather lax policy about absences this semester. In light of the H1N1 epidemic, Health Services and URI administration has been fastidious about urging students to take proper precautions to stay healthy and prevent the spread of the virus.
11/5/09 - University of Rhode Island students have been reaching out to Rhode Island since this busy fall semester began. Through an amazing 135 initiatives, more than 2,200 freshmen from URI 101 classes created and participated in a wide variety of fundraisers and special events to raise awareness and make a difference for 20 local service organizations and community partners.
11/5/09 - Monday was a long day. After classes, a meeting and a pit stop at the Cigar office, I returned home around 8:30 p.m., where I delved into the 300-page book due for one of my classes the next day. Halfway through the book my eyelids were drooping, my head was pounding and the caffeine from my last cup of coffee had long since worn off.
