04/04/07 - Human Giant. Some name for a television show, right? What could it possibly be about? Maybe a reality series? Maybe a sitcom? Maybe a drama? Unfortunately, (or fortunately, depending on your TV taste) Human Giant is none of the above.

MTV's newest series, which debuts tomorrow, is a collection of short comedy skits that are supposed to be hilarious. I didn't get that vibe from the show. Maybe it's because I don't have the same sense of humor, or maybe it simply is because the show is just not that funny.

Human Giant sort of reminded me of a really bad version of Saturday Night Live, only with three characters. Aziz Ansari, Rob Huebel and Paul Scheer are the stars of the show, and honestly (sorry guys, no offense), they aren't that funny.

Even with their professional backgrounds in comedy, the guys did not prove themselves to be hysterical in any way, shape or form. Some of the skits that the guys acted in were "Shutterbugs," "Illusionators," "The Worst Mixed Tape" and "Old Fashioned Fun."

Honestly, the best of them all was "The Worst Mixed Tape," and only because Ansari had to walk around New York City blasting Gloria Estefan and Six Pence None the Richer from a boom box. Obviously, this is not the funniest thing I have ever seen in my life and nothing really out of the ordinary when it comes to comedy skits.

The trio also sort of reminded me of a wannabe Will Ferrell movie. Their skits might have been funny if they were directed by Ferrell, but unfortunately for them they weren't. I felt as though the jokes were forced and didn't come naturally, and I also have to say, these comedians are not good actors by any means.

My biggest complaint of them all, however, is why call the show Human Giant? The whole time I was watching the show, I kept asking myself, "What does this have to do with a human giant?" It boggled my mind and still to this moment and I am confused. Any ideas?

Maybe I have a dry sense of humor, maybe I just didn't get the point of the show (even though I really don't think there is one), but Human Giant didn't even get a giggle out of me.

MTV seems to think that it will have a large number of people follow the show, which they it might, but I can tell you one thing, I am definitely not one of those people.

To find out for yourself, check out the season premiere of Human Giant Thursday at 10:30 p.m.
