O'Connor said that these students bring a lot of historical and cultural perspective.

Ryan McCormick of Cranston, a transfer from Syracuse and a sophomore with three years of eligibility.

Freshman Erkko Puranen is from Finland and is really coming along O'Connor said. They also have Reece Markman from Texas whose club team won the Youth National Championships.

In addition, they added two freshmen from Ontario, Franco Lo Presti and Josh Gonsalves. Gonsalves is not playing this fall season because of an ACL tear but should be back for the spring season.

"I feel like we brought a good group," O'Connor said.

This year the team was put together differently after losing all of its players from last year. According to O'Connor they have a lot more depth with interchangeable players. He believes that his team is in a good spot right now.

"My personal goal [this year] is to see the team develop and see them grow as players," O'Connor said. "I'm confident that as the season goes on we will gain momentum. It's a learning process."

The team's goal is the same as every year, to make the Atlantic 10 Tournament and go to the NCAAs.

Last year the Rams went 9-8-2 overall and 7-1-1 in conference play.

On Tuesday, Sept. 9, the Rams travel to their instate rival, Providence College, to play at 3 p.m.

"It will be a tough one," O'Connor said. "[Providence] is a good team and just beat Boston College, 1-0. It will be a good stepping stone if it's a good result."
