12/02/08 - To the Cigar,

Every year tons of trees are cut down to produce wrapping and tissue paper, boxes, gifts and Christmas trees that are used during the holiday season.

This season we need to focus on saving our resources, as well as our money, to better our environment and preserve your money.

This winter you can save your money and the environment by substituting the supplies used to wrap gifts with these recycled items.

Use newspaper rather than wrapping paper, saved gift boxes and bags, newspaper and other recycled items rather than tissue paper, cleaned out chip bags to make ribbon, string, and wrapping paper, cardboard from used boxes to make gift tags, cards, or write on the box or bag itself.

The key to saving is buying fewer gifts. Rather than buying for every family member and friend, organize a Yankee Swap or Secret Santa. This will make that one gift more special and appreciated. Less of your money will be spent on gifts and the materials used to wrap those gifts.

Save your money this holiday season by saving the environment!

Thank You,

Heather Weindel
