Letter: URI Recycling holds holiday food, clothing drive for needy
Issue date: 12/3/08 Section: Editorial/Opinion
12/03/08 - To the Cigar,
Beginning Thursday, empty cardboard boxes will be installed into every residence hall for the holiday food and clothing drive.
Please donate your nonperishable food and reusable clothing.
University of Rhode Island Recycling and an impressive staff of volunteers will collect the contents every day this month.
Food and clothing items will be sorted, packed and then donated to the Jonnycake Center in PeaceDale.
If you'd like to volunteer, please stop by room 304 Memorial Union weekdays from 2 to 4 p.m. to sign up.
You can also e-mail URI Recycling at recycle@etal.uri.edu.
URI Recycling's new office in room 304 in the Memorial Union is open every weekday afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m.
Students, faculty and staff are invited to stop in to talk about your recycling needs.
You can sign up for new blue and green recycling bins for your dorm room or office, drop off used alkaline batteries, toner cartridges or CFL light bulbs, or share your ideas about sustainable solid waste management at URI.
Thank you for recycling.

URI Recycling Coordinator
