Angel Cruz: "I'm not really going anywhere, just staying at home. I wanted to go to Puerto Rico and visit my father, but certain financial issues got in the way."

James Capece: "I'm going to be home, have the family come by, that kind of thing. We're having it at my house in North Kingstown, like right up the road."

Elaine Alexander:

Elaine Alexander: "I'm going back to New Jersey and taking a break from school. For New Year's, I'm probably going to Jenkinson's, on the New Jersey Shore. It's a half indoor, half outdoor bar right on the beach, and it's really a cool setting. They have a deck right on the water, but it's huge so it's never crowded like Charlie 'Os."

Genessenia Votta: "Before Christmas I'm not really doing anything, but the day after I'm going with my family to a condo in Florida and then to the Keys for New Year's."

Mike Martin: "I am going home and relaxing in Warwick. Basically not working, as I am unemployed over the winter break. Most of my family is in Rhode Island anyway, so I don't really have to go anywhere."

12/09/08 - It's that time of the year again. After finals University of Rhode Island students will pack up for the nearly month-long break between semesters. Whatever your plans, denomination or economic status, this holiday season to be about relaxation. Whether you're just going home or going on vacation, everyone is getting ready for the holiday season.

Because of the current economic downward spiral, many students have given up on their vacation plans and decided to have a quiet and peaceful holiday with family and friends.

The Cigar went out and about yesterday to find out what some of the student body is up to this winter break, and one thing is clear, classes and professors will be the last thing on their minds come mid-December.
