Letter: Alumnus responds to Phi Psi eviction

01/30/09 -To the Cigar,
As a brother of the defunct Alpha Epsilon Pi and alumnus of, oh, the apathetic generation of University of Rhode Island ca. 01' I keep tabs, on occasion, of happenings on campus. I recently got an email forward about the demise of my old neighbor Phi Kappa Psi. Phi Psi, when I was there, was the model fraternity. For me, this eviction finally kills the Greek presence.
Mission accomplished Thomas Dougan and Co. Did it have to be so drawn out? And what the hell kind of tip was received that warranted a SWAT TEAM to ransack a house for a dime bag? Flashlights and guns and steel toes to boot. How ridiculous and downright un-American?
I feel bad for the sap who caused this costly humiliation. Hang in there, fellas. I'm thinking a good lawyer (ahem, Phi Psi alumni that's your cue) and a lucrative lawsuit might be in order, and very American.
