February is another busy month at University of Rhode Island. With plenty of events besides Valentines Day to keep everyone busy. A variety of musical acts are playing at the local spots like The Wheelhouse Tavern, Lupo's, and URI's own Ryan Center and 193 Degree Coffee House.
Besides musical acts, there are many other things happening. Comedian Larry the Cable Guy is coming to "Git 'R Done" at the Ryan Center. For gamers, there is a three-day gaming convention in the Memorial Union.
And anyone who might be a bit lonely heading into Valentine's Day the speed-dating event on the 11th might be the perfect chance to find someone to buy some flowers for on the 14th.
Feb. 11: Speed Dating in the Memorial Union Ballroom 6-9 p.m.
B.O.N.D and FEDEA's NBA 2k9 Tournament in the America's Cup Restaurant in the Memorial Union. 6:15 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. $5 entry fee. Bring your own XBOX 360 controller.
Feb. 12: Jason Mraz performs at The Ryan Center 8 p.m. $17 Student/ $27 Public
Glowkid, Dean Gardner, and Mickey and the Bandits at the Wheelhouse Tavern 10 p.m. No cover charge.
Feb. 13: The English Beat, Big D & The Kids Table, and Lemon Lime Tennis Shoes perform at Lupo's 9p.m. Tickets: $20 Advance, $22 day of.
Jeff Bujak and The Playa's Ball 3.0 at the Wheelhouse Tavern 10 p.m. No cover charge.
Feb. 14: Miars performs at The Wheelhouse 10 p.m. $5 cover charge.
Feb. 18: The Dream, Ron Browz, and Serani perform at Lupo's. 9 p.m. Tickets: $15 Advance, $20 day of.
Feb. 19: P.I.N.K Dance Party in the Memorial Union Ballroom 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.
JAM the RAM: tail BLOCK Hunger. Live music, snowboard jam, and Food Drive sponsored by the URI Snowboarding Club. 3 to 9 p.m. on the Quad. Bring two canned food items.
"Circumfrence": a solo comedy play written and performed by Amy Salloway. 7:30 p.m. at Swan Hall. Free.
