Letter: Alumnus calls Diaz's bill 'pure insanity'
Issue date: 2/20/09 Section: Editorial/Opinion
02/20/09 - So Rep. Grace Diaz again plans to introduce a bill to grant In-State tuition to non-citizen students as long as they have graduated a Rhode Island highschool and have "applied" for citizenship. And she wants us to believe this bill is not aimed a benefitting illegals.
Does Rep. Diaz think that we're that stupid not to see her real goal?
Illegal aliens are a drain on society, costing the U.S. taxpayers millions in education costs and health care costs. They take jobs from American citizens and cause multiple social problems in the communities where they live, and yet Rep. Diaz wants the taxpayers of Rhode Island to have additional costs thrust upon them to give college education to people that should't be in this country in the first place!
Until we shut the floodgates that have let illegals overrun our country, then granting them more benefits is pure insanity.
