03/25/09 - Weeks ago, Kelly Clarkson's latest album All I Ever Wanted leaked onto the Internet; but that didn't stop the album from debuting at No. 1 when it was released the week of March 10. In fact, it may have even helped the album.
Fans who sneaked an audio peek at the album may have enjoyed it so much that it made them go out and buy it. The album sold 255,000 copies for the week according to Newsday.
Clarkson's album received rave reviews just days prior to its release, and it is easy to understand why. The album is outstanding.
Her latest single, "My Life Would Suck Without You," has hit radio stations all over, but it isn't the only song on the album worth tuning into. Every song is worth a listen.
Clarkson, who won "American Idol" in Season 1, sticks to pop on her latest album, but adds some oomph with new instrumental sounds and a disc full of lyrics that Clarkson's fans can easily relate too.
"I Do Not Hook Up," and "Don't Let Me Stop You" are fast-paced tunes that focus on being strong, and not giving into the pressures of a guy just looking to get lucky. Clarkson sings, "I know I can find someone to give me what I want."
The songs "All I Ever Wanted," "If I Can't Have You," "Why Ya Wanna Bring Me Down," and "Tip of My Tongue" all maintain the fast pace, while Clarkson slows it down for the songs, "Cry," "Save You," and "No One Listen." Each of these tracks feature echoes of the voice people fell in love with on hit songs like "A Moment Like This" and "Because of You."
Three other songs worth mentioning on All I Ever Wanted are "Longshot," "Ready," and "I Want You," which showcase unique instrumentals and lyrics that will stick for hours in someone's head: Lines like "My heartbeat beats me senselessly," "I'm ready now," and "I want you, you, you, you, you, you, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, want you,"-are sure to keep pencils tapping at the work desk all day long.
Since the release of the latest album, Clarkson has appeared on "Good Morning America," "Saturday Night Live," and "American Idol," and she will begin giving fans all they've ever "wanted" when she begins touring on March 28.
