09/15/09 - Even stars like Pink and Kelly Clarkson are speaking out against Kanye West after his appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards, which aired on Sunday night, live from New York City's Radio City Music Hall.
Pink referred to Kanye as a "shit," in her Tweet on Twitter Sunday night. According to Perez Hilton, Clarkson wrote in her blog, "I've seen you do some pretty shitty things, but you just keep amazing me with your tactless, asshole ways."
Fans watching at home took to Facebook to share similar opinions, referring to West as an "ass," a "douche bag" and "heartless."
So what did Kanye do that is causing such an Internet commotion? He didn't have a wardrobe mishap and he didn't rip down the curtain. Instead, he interrupted the acceptance speech of teenage performer Taylor Swift, during her acceptance of the "Best Female Video Award," to share his opinion of who should have taken home the Moonman.
Swift had barely gotten into her speech as Kanye jumped on stage and proclaimed that Beyonce Knowles had the best video. The camera flashed to Beyonce, who appeared shocked and embarrassed by Kanye's outburst, then cut to Swift, who seemed visibly saddened. Swift didn't get to continue her speech until the end of the night, when Beyonce let the country music star use her airtime to finish her "Thank You's."
Ten minutes after the mishap, Swift was slated to perform. However, she put on, what appeared to be, a flawless performance - one in which she danced through the subway in a little red dress and heels. After singing with pre-selected fans, she sprinted up the subway steps and onto the roof of a taxi waiting outside the hall.
Following West's outburst, Swift offered some words about the situation. "Well, I was standing on stage because I was really excited because I had just won the award. And then I was really excited because Kanye West was on stage. And then I wasn't so excited anymore after that," she said
According to celebrity blogger Perez Hilton's Web site, Kanye offered an apology to Swift. Kanye wrote, "I'm so sorry to Taylor Swift and her fans and her mom," and "I'm in the wrong for going on stage and taking away from her moment!"
This was then broken up with comments supporting his cause, saying, "Beyonce's video was the best of this decade!" and "I'm still happy for Taylor!!!!! Boooyaaawwww!!!! You are very very talented!!! I gave my awards to Outkast when they deserved it over me… That's what it is!!!!!!"
Even though celebrities have seemed to rally around Swift, some viewers on Facebook are decidedly team Kanye, posting, "I love Kanye West," "He was the only real one in the room" and "Freedom of speech."

There is no excuse in the world for what he did to Taylor. Taylor deserved that award and her moment more than anyone else and words can't describe how classless KW was, although what he did doesn't surprise me at all, what can you expect coming from someone like him?

I think it was ridiculous and no apology will ever take away what he did. Freedom of speech and honesty are not enough of an excuse to make it ok. He is a dirtbag. (Continued…)

The only viewers teaming up for Kanye West are probably African Americans. If this would have been reversed and it had been a white person doing that to a black woman, the black community would be outraged. (Continued…)

I'm getting a little tired of the Kanye defenders acting like what he did was just a minor faux pas. He got out his seat, went up on stage, took the mic from someone giving an acceptance speech & went on to do something staggeringly rude during a major (and very public) event, all while in full control of his actions. (Continued…)

Taylor Swift is a lovely lady and has quite a bit of talent. I was not aware of her or her abilities untill the Jay Leno Show last night. He had the idiot on who caused so much of a stir. (Continued…)

Kanye is an ass, I'm tired of his poor excuses and his sorries. I will never listen to his music ever again. He is just a angry black man.

In what universe is it OK to walk up on stage, in the middle of an acceptance speech, and interrupt the person claiming that they should not have won the award?
Anyone who says this is acceptable is a disgusting, filthy, honorless goon. (Continued…)
