For the Record: Corrections & Clarifications
Issue date: 10/22/09 Section: News
10/22/09 - On Tuesday, in a story about the Robert L. Carothers Library hours, "Library to extend its a.m. hours," it was incorrectly stated that the library would be open until 2 a.m. Monday through Friday. The library will stay open until 2 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
It was also misstated that the library had to close earlier because of staff members who were unwilling to stay past midnight, in addition to other employees leaving for better job offers. The library changed its hours in fall 2008 because a nighttime supervisor who worked Sunday through Thursday from 4:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. retired, and another supervisor transferred to work a different shift at a different library in April 2009. From April until the end of finals, the remaining employees rotated staying overtime to ensure the library stayed open until 11:30 p.m.
