03/08/07 - Charles Manson, Hannibal Lecter and Ted Kaczynski. If Britney Spears isn't careful, she's going to lump herself into a group and straightjacket with those crazies. Granted, completely cutting off one's hair isn't quite the same as mass murder conspiracy or eating someone's face for breakfast, but it's close.
03/08/07 - So when was the last time you heard of an awesome rock group straight from the Land Down Under? Probably never, but if you follow my advice and check out Youth Group's latest album, Casino Twilight Dogs, you'll be sure to fall in love with these boys from Sydney.
03/08/07 - To the Cigar, I am writing in response to the CD review written by Jackie Cole about Sonic Youth's CD, B-sides and Rarities, in the Feb. 28 edition of the Cigar. As I understand it, she essentially says that everyone tries so hard to be different, it becomes the norm, "leaving the truly original people frustrated and the faux-originals just looking like dumbasses.
03/08/07 - It's such an annoyance to see Disney Channel actors and actresses coming out with songs and records and trying to make it big in the music world. Maybe these stars are looking for an escape from the clutches of the dreaded Walt Disney emperor, as Mickey Mouse takes orders from his cryogenically frozen head.
03/08/07 - Since I am a fan of bands like Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and Quietdrive, a new subgenre of rock music was revealed to me through the Fratellis. Producing a mix between bands like the Strokes, Head Automatica and Jet, the Fratellis offer a great, upbeat album, Costello Music, that is sure to turn any bad day around.
03/08/07 - Keller Williams is a one-man jam band from Fredericksburg, Va., whose latest album, Dream, was released in February 2007. Dream is a 16-track collaboration album that is bound to get you toe-tapping to the instrumental rhythms, but Williams inevitably mind-numbs you with his bland lyrics.
03/08/07 - Hidden in North Providence lies a talent that some might think is comparable to the state's own Sage Francis. His MC skills are so on point that VH1's White Rapper Show doesn't even compare to the level of how superior this rapper is going to be.
03/08/07 - What do Chris Daughtry, Taylor Hicks and Katharine McPhee all have in common? They were all contestants on last year's season of American Idol. Corny, yes I know, but it is interesting to see how these singers have all made it in their own distinctive ways.
